The Story of This Work
The general jar is an iconic Chinese lidded form — strength without harshness. Cobalt floral painting wraps the body; the lid closes the silhouette. It belongs on a library table or a dark wood desk, as in a London study.
From the Atelier
Lidded general jar, thrown, painted in underglaze blue and fired in Jingdezhen.
